Café 28

Located within the Inanda Greens Office Park, overlooking a magnificent 9-hole golf course and surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens. This hidden gem called Café 28 opened its doors to patrons in 2016 and has been serving authentic Italian cuisine to its loyal customers ever since. 

Known for its unique and quality ingredients, most of which are imported from Italy as well as the fresh organic produce grown in their very own garden has given Café 28 the reputation of serving the BEST pizza in Johannesburg by customers who have flooded social media platforms with praises.

The well-orchestrated menu created by the Maestro himself, Andrea Giromini, consists of an impressive range of sharing boards (taglieri), pizza’s, pasta and heavenly desserts. The menu caters for a variety of palates including many vegetarian options, as well as a frozen range which can be made in the comfort of your home.

Monday–Thursday: 11.30am-7.30pm
Friday and Saturday: 11.30am-8.30pm
Sunday: 11.30am-5.30pm


The Maestro

Born in Piedmont, a northwest region in Italy known for its pedigree wines, autumn truffles and vast mountain ranges. Andrea fondly recalls his passion for food since the tender age of 6, when the family would gather around the table laden with a vast array of home cooked meals prepared by his mamma. With over 20 years’ worth of experience in making authentic pizza and pasta, his passion to compose and deliver quality Italian products still burns hotter any pizza oven as it did when he first started.

In the pursuit to perfect his skills he would eventually find himself training on the Italian Amalfi Coast where he specialized in the craft of making the world-famous Neapolitan pizza.

After countless visits to South Africa, Andrea decided to call her his home and settled here in 2013. Shortly after he decided to share his love for authentic Italian cuisine with the local community and started up the first Café 28 on Grayston Drive in Sandton after which they moved operations to the beautiful Inanda Green Office Park in 2016.

The need for people to experience his truly authentic creations and the high demand from loyal patrons has led Andrea to explore expanding operations to other regions around South Africa so be on the lookout…
